Sample of the Business Travel Requirements for an Visa for UK Citizens

Passport
The applicant's actual passport. The passport must:
- Have at least two blank visa pages
- Be valid six months beyond entry date
- Be issued as a full validity passport
- Not be damaged in any way

Photographs
One passport sized colour photograph. The photograph must:
- Have a white background
- Be taken within the last six months

Letter of Invitation
A letter of invitation is required. In order to fulfil this particular requirement the applicant can choose from one of the two options detailed below:
A letter of invitation from the company to be visited. A copy is acceptable. This letter must:- Be printed on A4 company letterhead paper
- Include the full name and address of the inviting company
- Include the fax and phone number of the inviting company
- State the applicants full name, passport number, date of birth and gender exactly as it appears on their passport
- State the relationship between the applicant and the inviter
- State the applicants source of financial support whilst in China
- Include the date's) of entry and exit
- Include the length of stay and number of entries required
- Specify the place and purpose of the visit
- Bear the seal/stamp of the inviting company
- Bear the signature of the representative of the inviting company
- Be issued within the last six months
- Not be an email

A letter of invitation from the person's Business Associate or Country Ministry. A copy is acceptable. This letter must:- Be printed on A4 paper
- Be issued by a Duly Authorised Unit
- Bear the seal and signature of the inviting unit
- State the applicants date of birth
- Be issued within the last six months

Visa can obtain an Official Government Business Invitation (Visa Notification Letter) on your behalf. This must be ordered with the Country visa application by simultaneously filling in the Applicant Itinerary and Declaration Letter. We also need the visas Chinese Invitation Order Form which can be found within the visas Application Pack. The current processing time for this service is eight working days which includes the issuance of the visa. -
Copy of Passport
A photocopy of the following document's) must be submitted to Visas:
- A clear colour copy of the information page's) from the applicant's passport
- A clear colour copy of the applicant's valid UK residency visa where applicable
Applicants who fail to supply the necessary photocopies will be charged a £10.00 + VAT fee and risk a delay in the submission of the application as Visas will make the copies on the applicants behalf.

Visa Application Form
One fully completed and signed application form
- Applicants must fully complete all answers to all questions
- Applicants whose occupation includes media related activities must state their full job title in 1.15
- Applicants who are self employed must supply a full and detailed job title in 1.15
- Questions that do not apply to the applicant must be completed as "not applicable"
- Handwritten forms must be completed in block capitals and black ink only
- There can be no handwritten changes or correction fluid
- Applicants must sign the form in the original
- Each page of the application form must be printed on separate sheets of A4 paper
- Signature on visa form must match signature on passport

Visas Order Confirmation
For orders placed on the Visas website, a copy of the Online Order Confirmation which is sent to you via email, must be submitted.
For all other orders, and where applicable, a completed Visas Visa Order Form which can be found in the Visas Application Pack should be submitted.
Please note that all card payments will only be made upon completion of the visa application process.

Applicants of Chinese Origin (example)
First time Visa applicants born in Country or those who have previously held Country nationality need to supply their former Country Passport and/or Identity Card plus their original mainland Travel Permit. Applicants applying for a Visa for the second or subsequent time must supply their current or former country passport.
Applicants who have never held a Hong Kong ID card must supply a cover letter stating this and explaining the reason why. A copy is acceptable.
The applicants name as stated on the Country ID card must be identical to the name on their current passport. -
Media Professionals
Applicants whose occupation includes media related activities are usually only issued a one month single entry visa.

Proof of Previous Visa's
Applicants who have previously been issued one or more visa must:
- Supply a clear copy of their most recently issued visa
- Supply a clear copy of the information page's of the passport in which the old visa was issued
- Supply the original cancelled passport if it contains a valid visa
Applicants who fail to supply the necessary photocopies will be charged a £10.00 + VAT fee and risk a delay in the submission of the application as Visas will make the copies on the applicants behalf.
Applicants who are no longer in possession of the passport containing previous visas must submit an original personal statement addressed to the Embassy explaining why this is the case.

Applicants of Turkish Origin
Applicants of origin are requested to submit an original invitation from the company

Applicants of Country
Applicants origin must provide their ethnic group and religion which should be handwritten at the bottom of the first page of the visa form

Multiple Entry Applicants
Applicants requiring a multiple entry visa must supply a clear copy of a previously obtained multi entry visa (if obtained before) when applying for a multi entry
